Stubai Alps winter wonderland
Winter holidays at Hotel Serles in Mieders are holidays of abundance. Also off the Stubai ski slopes, numerous leisure activities guarantee fun and the feeling of absolute freedom. As much as we Tyroleans like skiing: Discovering the Stubai Alps with a sled or on snow shoes is a great alternative to see winter from its most idyllic side. Forests covered in snow that sparkles in the sunlight like thousands of tiny diamonds, peace and contemplation. Perfect conditions for unforgettable adventures!
Winter and snow-shoe hiking in Tyrol
Due to the guaranteed snow at the Stubaital, winter and snow-shoe hikes are possible at any time. Here you can experience nature first-hand: The snow sparkles, rays of sunshine make their way into the dense forest. The healthy mountain air quickly lets you forget everyday life and long-lost spirits are resurrected. Step by step, breath by breath, everything becomes easier. In addition, winter and snow-shoe hiking are a leisure activity for the entire family. Hotel Serles is happy to lend you the snow shoes for your hike for free!
Those who have walked through the deep snow before already know that there is a lot to discover, such as the traces of game looking for food the night before. It is always exciting. The area is so rich in variety that you won’t even notice how quickly time passes. Once you have reached the alpine hut, you can enjoy the Tyrolean cuisine and the hospitality of the hut keepers.
Up on the sled and into the fun
Eight toboggan runs in the Stubaital, which have been awarded the seal of approval for natural toboggan runs, amaze all winter sports enthusiasts. It is not without a reason that the Stubaital can call itself Tyrol’s largest toboggan arena. An unbelievable 43 kilometers in total guarantee for swift rides into the valley. A stop with Tyrolean delicacies and warming hot wine should not be missed. Did you ever go sledding at night? That is a lot of fun! The Mieders toboggan run is floodlit and open until 02:00 a.m., as are the huts along the way.
14 rental stations offer state-of-the-art sleds to save you from arduously dragging up bulky sleds. Look forward to a fun trip in the healthy Tyrolean mountain air when tobogganing at the Stubaital.
Hiking along the 4 Stubai skiing areas
The 4 Stubaital skiing areas Stubai Glacier, Serlesbahnen Mieders, Schlick 2000 and Elferbahnen in Fulpmes also offer alternatives when the others prefer to go skiing. Along the ski slopes you can find forests, meadows, alpines pastures. And the snow shoes are available for free at Hotel Serles.
80 km of winter hiking paths at the Stubaital in Tyrol
On the constantly ploughed and well signposted winter hiking paths here at the Stubaital, you can get to know Tyrol’s gentle side. Partly, the hiking paths are also accessible with strollers – or you can pull the little ones along on a sled, which is also a lot of fun. Of course, the winter hiking paths can also be used by Nordic walkers and joggers. Thus, there is nothing in the way of running in winter. We at 4-star Hotel Serles happily recommend routes, depending on how much time you want to spend in the Stubai mountains.
